I had been with family I don’t see often and we had gone to the mall. I had separated from them to use the bathroom and was stabbed and taken to this abandoned place. They continued to torture me by stabbing me. I later died, but woke back up in the car with my family and we had parked at the same mall. The kidnapping happened over and over again, but i started to notice things to help myself. I came across an old neighbors house and ran to them and they kept me safe but everytime i tried to call 911 the kidnappers would find me. I finally found out that the person who had been stabbing and killing me was my father. Before waking up I remember asking him why he was doing this to me and he said that I wasn’t the same anymore. That I had changed. I wasn’t 23 years old but 19 and i needed to start acting like it. I cried.
Dreams can be complex and deeply personal, often reflecting our subconscious thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Here are some possible interpretations of your dream:
Familial Relationships: The presence of your family, particularly your father, suggests that your relationships with them, especially with your father, are significant to you. The dream might indicate feelings of conflict or concern about your connection with him, or possibly about the expectations he has for you.
Fear of Change: The idea of being told that you have changed might suggest an internal conflict about growth and maturity. You might be grappling with how others perceive your evolution as a person, particularly in relation to familial expectations. The ages 19 and 23 could represent significant transitions you're either facing or reflecting on.
Feelings of Vulnerability: The repeated scenarios of torture may reflect feelings of helplessness or fear in your waking life. This could be related to external pressures, personal relationships, or fear of being judged or misunderstood by loved ones.
Seeking Safety: Running to your old neighbor's house for safety indicates a desire for protection and support. This suggests that you may be looking for resources or connections from your past that help you navigate your current challenges.
Repetition and Recognition: The repeated kidnapping scenario might signify that you're encountering a recurring challenge or feeling in your life. The fact that you notice things to help yourself shows resilience and your ability to recognize patterns, even in difficult situations.
Emotional Expression: Your emotional reaction—crying and asking your father why—indicates a deep-seated need for validation and understanding. It might symbolize unresolved issues or a desire for your family's acceptance of who you are and who you have become.
In sum, this dream seems to encapsulate themes of family dynamics, personal growth, vulnerability, and the quest for safety and understanding. It might be helpful to reflect on your current relationships and any changes you are undergoing to gain further insight into what this dream signifies for you personally.
